The singer is one of 14 contestants taking part in the latest series of the dancing competition, which premieres on Saturday (September 15).
Speaking at the recording of the launch show, she recalled how Cheryl Cole and Nicola Roberts influenced her decision to appear as a contestant.
"Cheryl pushed me over the edge," Walsh said. "Her and Nicola. They were adamant that I should do it. I was teetering on the edge and they both pushed me into Strictly."
Walsh joked that she may try and emulate one of Cheryl Cole's dance moves, saying: "Cheryl did the swan dive, yes. I should do a swan dive off the balcony on the show. It's even higher than Cheryl's. That will be one up on her."
On what fans can expect from her routines, she said: "I think they're going to be even saucier than the Girls Aloud outfits. In Girls Aloud, we tended to show a bit of the top half or a bit of leg. On this, we're showing everything!
"I do try and work out a little bit. I've upped it for the last couple of weeks and the strict diet starts now. Don't let me eat anything bad from now on!"
She added that her bandmates will join her for some of the live shows, saying: "Cheryl and Nicola will be in the audience to support me."
Strictly Come Dancing debuts on Saturday, September 15 at 6.30pm on BBC One.
