The professional dancer was reported to have felt "stitched up" by being partnered with Britton, but she told the Daily Express that their lessons were going well.
"I think all Latin dances are fabulous but they are hard to learn and I didn't appreciate actually how hard they are and Artem goes over each step perfectly," Britton said.
"I like the way Artem is teaching me. He is patient and kind, occasionally I get the old 'tap' on the leg and he asks me what my leg is doing which makes me laugh."
She added: "There is a lot to pack in and get in my brain."
It was claimed last week that Britton had been banned from rehearsing before her competitors had started because of her stint on the show's 2010 Christmas special.
