The popstar and his pro partner Karen Hauer finished in the bottom two at the Wembley special, but recovered last weekend to finish second on the leaderboard with 36 points for their Charleston routine.
"It goes to show what hard work does," said Byrne.
"We were so close to going last week. The dance had to have character and we just had to embrace it to do it justice."
He added: "I want to be in this for as long as I possibly can be. It's survival of the fittest now. It's who can dance when the pressure is on and you're in the bottom two. I'm up for the fight."
