The former Emmerdale actress was voted out of the BBC show at the semi-final stage after losing the dance-off to Denise Van Outen.
Riley revealed that most of the Strictly staff and audience joined her in tears after her exit yesterday (December 16).
"I was devastated to leave. Never before on Strictly had the entire gallery been in tears," she told The Sun.
"Everyone knows I wear my heart on my sleeve. I did cry but I'm not sad, I've had the best outcome in the world."
She added: "The main reason is that I've given big girls a voice for the first time ever - we're not unfit. I rode that staircase faster than my dance partner Robin Windsor did. Big girls don't just eat curry!"
Riley - who reportedly went from a size 26 to an 18 during her time on the show - said that she has been too busy to find romance.
"Dancing has been better than sex for me. It's had to be. I'm too busy for anything else at the moment," she quipped.
"We've been dancing 11-hour days then having physio - we're so busy."
Riley has been tipped for a return to Emmerdale as her character Mandy Dingle, after leaving the ITV soap in 2001.
