The TV presenter was in the bottom two after the public vote and lost out to ex-soccer player John Barnes in the final dance-off.
Littlewood and his dance partner Lilia Kopylova only tallied 25 points from the judges for their Paso Doble performance on Saturday night.
Judge Arlene Philips criticised his dance, commenting: "Sometimes you charge round the floor like a raging bull, not listening to the music."
Craig Revel Horwood added: "For me, full of crowd-pleasing moments but technically for me really boxy because you were trying too hard. Your timing was out, your shoulders raised."
Talking about his experience, Littlewood said: "Everyone behind the scenes has been wonderful. The better man got through...I can have a vindaloo tonight!"
