Gethin praises "lovely" Katherine Jenkins

Eliminated Strictly Come Dancing contestant Gethin Jones has praised his "lovely" new girlfriend Katherine Jenkins.

The Blue Peter host, who was voted off at the weekend, grew close to Katherine after she performed on Strictly in October.

"What happened was that she came on the show, so we started to banter a bit about being Welsh - everyone in Wales knows everyone else, of course - and we ended up going for a drink," Gethin told the Daily Mail.

"I have no idea how it will pan out, but yes, I like her. We first met a few years ago when she came on Blue Peter and what struck me was how good she was with the kids. You kind of think people like that are all going to be false, but she really wasn't at all, and I like that. She really is lovely, a typical Neath girl."
