Actress forbidden to star in 'Dancing' show

The actress, who won an Oscar for her role in Mighty Aphrodite, was keen to take part in the dance contest, but feared it would give the impression that her career was in trouble.
She said: "I did Jimmy Kimmel's show when I was promoting [2007 film] Reservation Road and [former contestant] Mark Cuban came on. I was talking about how I was a fan of the show and Jimmy Kimmel was like, 'Oh, you mean, Dancing With The D-List Celebrities?'
"Unfortunately, that's the way people look at the actors who do it. You can be the biggest sports figure in the world or the best boxer and do it, and no harm, no foul. But something about doing it as an actor right now sends out a message that there are problems in your career."
But she added that she would love to be a contestant in the future, saying: "As soon as that goes away, I'm there."
Sorvino recently confirmed that she is writing and directing a baseball movie for her husband to star in.
