The ballet queen has previous with the programme, acting as a guest judge and performing an extra special jive in 2009, but is she the right pick for the BBC entertainment behemoth?

Darcey won't face the bitchiness and quibbles about her credibility that greeted Alesha Dixon's appointment, but a hefty CV and the fanciest of footwork doesn't necessarily make for a great reality TV judge. Bussell's performance on the show in 2009 was competent, but hardly sizzling.
In the middle of Craig Revel Horwood's acerbic put-downs and Bruno Tonioli's flamboyance, there is a fear that Bussell will wilt into the background. She's definitely not a figure that will have Simon Cowell, ITV and Gary Barlow running scared in the Saturday night ratings war either.
Fiercely competitive and a star on the stage, Bussell would no doubt respond angrily to suggestions that she's been appointed as a safe pair of hands. However, we can't be alone in wishing the BBC had made a more bold pick.
