'Strictly Come Dancing' 2012: The rumoured celebs so far - pictures

By
If you're finding yourself lost and confused among the rowing, shooting and crazy fast bike pedalling of the London Olympics, fear not.

Very soon, TV will return to normal with Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor back on the box and taking over our lives once more. Hurrah!

But who will be the celebs battling it out for the BBC in the inevitable ratings war with Cowell's karaoke machine?

Who will Brucie be making dreadful puns about every Saturday night? And most importantly, which middle-aged man can we expect to see awkwardly grinding against a scantily-clad Ola Jordan on a weekend?

DJ and One Show presenter Chris Evans is top of the list of big names linked to the series and he's a big fan of the show (and a regular X Factor complainer) so we could well imagine him putting on some pink and sequins.

Dannii Minogue's people have ruled her out (for now) and ITV has apparently slapped a ban on Michelle Keegan or any other cast members leaving the cobbles for the dancefloor.

Charlie Brooks is a soap star who looks likely to be cha cha cha-ing her way onto Saturday nights, while Fern Britton is another rumour that doesn't appear to be going away.

Sports stars are a fixture on Strictly and cricket legend Michael Vaughan and Olympian Amy Williams could fill that quota in 2012.

Reality Bites' favourite rumour?

At the moment it's Nicky from Westlife. We've rarely seem him pull off any moves other than gracefully rising from a stool, but all those years in a boyband must have taught him some toe-tapping rhythm and we reckon he probably cuts quite the dash in ballroom tails.
