'Strictly Come Dancing' week two: Our top five dances - watch videos

 |  By  |  2 comments
There was a sad farewell for Johnny Ball this weekend on Strictly Come Dancing, but thankfully there was also some fabulous routines and sizzling pairings on the dancefloor.

Digital Spy has picked out its personal Top 5 routines (some great, some stinking) of the weekend below:

1. Louis Smith and Flavia Cacace's Viennese waltz:
You could hear the female population sigh in adoration as the Olympic gymnast went into hold with Flavia for this 'Puppy Love'-themed slowie. There were technical faults in the dance, but we're not sure anyone was looking at Louis's hands or feet as he glided around the floor.

2. Denise Van Outen and James Jordan's jive:
The only problem with Denise's dance on Saturday may have been that it was too good. Funny, slick, cartwheels, saucy moves... it looked like a pair of professionals on the floor. Where Denise can go from here remains to be seen.

3. Dani Harmer and Vincent Simone's salsa:
Vincent always brings the best out of any celebrity and his partnership with Dani is shaping up to be one of his finest yet. The cheeky twosome packed a perfect blend of spice, flesh and testing moves into this two-minute salsa.

4. Victoria Pendleton and Brendan Cole's foxtrot:
After last week's tears, the Olympic cyclist finally found some steady footing in the ballroom. She still looked very shaky and nervous in parts (and will need to watch herself when out of hold from Brendan), but we couldn't help but give a little cheer when she got through the whole routine smoothly this week.

5. Michael Vaughan and Natalie Lowe's jive:
Ridiculous, bonkers, hilarious. Vaughany's jive was all of these and more. Proof that not all cricketers make good dancers, Vaughan was quite rightly left at the bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday. However, we're very grateful that he's stayed on the show. We can't wait to see more of that wonky-leg, Shakin' Stevens-inspired footwork.

Strictly continues next weekend at 6.30pm on BBC One.
