Morgan: 'Boyle compares to Paige'

Piers Morgan has said that the voice of Britain's Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle is worthy of comparison to her heroine Elaine Paige.

The panellist wrote on his blog that he did not expect the 47-year-old West Lothian-born singer to perform as well as she did when she got on the stage at the Glasgow audition.

Morgan said: "I can honestly say it was one of the most extraordinary moments in my perhaps equally unlikely career as a talent show judge.

"Susan Boyle is not just a good singer, she's a fantastic singer. Someone whose stunning range, tone and delivery is worthy of comparison to anyone - Elaine Paige included."

He added: "I could almost feel [Simon Cowell's] beady little eyes going 'KERCHING!' down the line from his new Beverly Hills mansion.

"For, unless I am a brainless aardvark - which might, sadly, be true - then this Glaswegian villager is going to sell a lot of records once this series is over."

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have revealed that they are fans of Boyle, whom Cowell believes could get a number one US album.
