The 48-year-old contestant was reportedly invited to attend the White House Correspondent's Dinner on Saturday night after Obama became a fan of her singing audition.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, the representative claimed that Boyle "was invited by numerous networks... to be a guest at the event" but that the programme's rulebook prevented it happening.
"None of the acts are allowed to go [overseas] for any events until the show is over so we had to decline on her behalf," the spokesperson said.
Celebrities in attendance at the $200-a-ticket event included Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Steven Spielberg and Eva Longoria.
