Flawless were put through automatically with the most public votes, while Smith, 17, was put through by the judges. Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden picked Smith for the second final spot over ventriloquist Gareth Oliver.
Holden claimed that Susan Boyle would have "big competition" from Smith following his rendition of U2's 'With Or Without You'. Meanwhile, Cowell claimed that the rugby player was the "dark horse" to win the show.
Speaking about Flawless's A-Team inspired routine, Cowell commented: "We have seen some utter junk tonight and that was utter genius."
Piers Morgan added: "I said earlier that if Susan Boyle doesn't win this competition I am a doughnut.
"After that incredible performance I might have to come to terms with being a doughnut."
The two acts join Diversity and Susan Boyle in Saturday's live final.
Pizza delivery man Jamie Pugh, female dance act Hot Honeyz, escapologist Merlin Cadogan, drag act Mama Trish and DJ Talent lost out in the semi-final.
The third Britain's Got Talent semi-final takes place tonight on ITV1 at 8.30pm.
