The 'I Do Not Hook Up' singer has joined a celebrity fanbase for the 48-year-old which includes Oprah Winfrey and Demi Moore, The AP reports.
"I think it's awesome. I'm bawling whenever I hear her sing," she said.
The first season American Idol winner added that Boyle’s performance of 'I Dreamed A Dream' from Les Miserables "sounded beautiful" .
Clarkson also said that she understands the pressure the church volunteer is under in the talent contest because the success of Idol has popularised the genre since its inception in 2002.
"No-one knew what to expect. No-one knew if it was going to be successful," Clarkson said. "But now people know the stakes."
