The Britain's Got Talent judge claimed that tabloid reports about Boyle's health were "pretty exaggerated" and that her admission to the Priory clinic was "entirely voluntary".
"She has gone in there to get some rest and get away from everyone, get away from the show, the media, the public and have some downtime. It was entirely voluntary," Contactmusic quotes him as saying.
Morgan went on to defend fellow judge Simon Cowell, insisting that he is concerned about the welfare of all the Britain's Got Talent acts.
"The idea that Simon is totally oblivious to the whole thing and just wants to make money out of her couldn't be further from the truth," he said.
"Simon, like everyone, is very concerned about Susan. No-one could have predicted this."
Boyle lost out to dance group Diversity in Saturday night's final of the ITV1 show.
