The 48-year-old singer is currently working on her debut album after finishing in second place on the ITV1 talent show in May.
Boyle's original audition for the programme became a YouTube sensation earlier this year, but her achievements were later marred by reports of an emotional breakdown due to the pressures of fame.
Speaking about her experiences in an interview with NBC News, the star revealed: "It's just been unbelievable - it's indescribable. Being plucked from obscurity is a bit like going on a long journey, really - you don't know what's going to happen. You don't know how it's going to end."
She added: "I don't want it to end. It's just really good."
Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell recently promised that Boyle's debut single would be "fantastic".
