Ant & Dec: 'Kelly Brook hadn't seen BGT'

Ant and Dec have claimed that Kelly Brook was unfamiliar with the format of Britain's Got Talent when she joined the show.

Brook was appointed as a fourth judge on the ITV1 contest in January. However, she was later axed from the programme after just six days.

Show producer and panellist Simon Cowell went on to admit that he felt "personally responsible" for the mistake. Meanwhile, hosts Ant and Dec claimed that Brook had been "wrong from the start".

In a new interview with the Daily Mail, Dec revealed: "We were surprised when we were told that Kelly Brook was joining the judging panel. 'Why another judge and why her?' we asked. When we met her she asked us what we did on the show, which I was kind of surprised about."

He continued: "As I was explaining to her what we did, Simon asked her, 'You have seen the show, haven't you?'"

Meanwhile, Ant said: "I had to wander off, as I couldn't stop laughing. I left Dec to deal with it."

Brook has previously insisted that she had a "fantastic time" on Britain's Got Talent.
