Susan Boyle's US TV singing debut was pre-recorded, a report has claimed.

The Scottish star was seen performing her debut single 'Wild Horses' on the finale of America's Got Talent earlier this week.

Though most of the broadcast was live, Boyle's song had been taped 24 hours earlier and was slotted into the show, the Daily Star reports.

A source told the newspaper: "Given Susan's history, no-one was taking any chances. It was a sensible precaution to get her song in the can.

"It took the pressure off her and enabled her to relax and give her best in front of her biggest ever audience."

Boyle checked into The Priory clinic in June after reportedly struggling to cope with her stint on Britain's Got Talent.

She was later snapped up by Simon Cowell's SyCo label and will release her debut album in November.
