Simon Cowell has reportedly apologised to an audience in Cardiff for a poor day of Britain's Got Talent auditions.

According to the Daily Star, the 50-year-old judge, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan were disappointed by a whole day of performances.

Cowell apparently told the crowd: "You have just witnessed one of the worst days in Got Talent history."

Holden added: "This afternoon there have been no potential winners and no talent. It was one of the worst shows we've ever had."

The acts during the day included a dancing dog which refused to dance, a teenager chopping wood and a 71-year-old belly dancer.

Britain's Got Talent will return to ITV1 later this year.
