Piers Morgan has reportedly described a Britain's Got Talent performance by an 81-year-old grandmother as "spine-tingling".

Widow Janey Cutler, from Lanarkshire, was helped on to the audition stage for the ITV1 talent show before singing Edith Piaf's 'Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien'.

An audience member told the News Of The World that the quality of the performance was completely unexpected. "No one could have imagined what they were about to hear," the attendee said. "Janey blew everyone away, just like Susan [Boyle] did last year."

Morgan described the pensioner's song as an "astonishing, spine-tingling performance". The angel-voiced OAP, from Wishaw, auditioned in Glasgow and lives alone with her dog Tara.
