Producers on the ITV talent show apparently hope to replicate the success of this year's X Factor, in which guest stars such as Katy Perry and Pixie Lott appeared on the judging panel at the auditions stage.
The news follows last week's announcement that Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff will serve as new permanent judges alongside Amanda Holden on the upcoming series.
A source told the Daily Star: "Simon saw how bringing new people on board on The X Factor last summer, like Nicole Scherzinger and Geri Halliwell, really gave the show a lift. Now he wants to do the same on Britain's Got Talent.
"Viewers will already see two new faces on the panel - The Hoff and Michael. But Simon wants to mix things up and have more new faces.
"Last year, Louis stepped in for him on Britain's Got Talent because he was ill and it brought a new dimension to the show and the panel. He wants to do the same next year. It's going to be mega."
Celebrities in the frame for a guest judging role on the series are thought to include Sharon Osbourne, Paul O'Grady, Cilla Black and James Corden.
Britain's Got Talent auditions begin in London on January 4.
