A dog who performed with his Opera-singing owner has reportedly advanced to the Britain's Got Talent live semi-finals.

Former model Pippa Langhorne auditioned for judges Amanda Holden, David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre with her Lhasa Apso puppy Buddy yesterday.

The panel were in Birmingham filming extra auditions for the show, after extending their search for acts via YouTube.

"He blew the judges away like no other animal has ever done on the show," a source told The Sun. "Buddy screeches and barks at appropriate intervals. It's more pleasant than you think, helped by Pippa's amazing voice."

The insider added: "The Hoff was pretty taken by the act. I'm not sure if it was the dog or that Pippa is attractive."

The 20-year-old explained that she began singing opera last year following the death of her grandfather. "I never even knew I could sing," she admitted.

Britain's Got Talent returns to ITV1 from Saturday, April 16.
