'Britain's Got Talent' semi nabs almost 11m

Britain's Got Talent's first semi-final was watched by almost 11 million viewers on Monday evening, according to the latest audience data.

The Britain's Got Talent live show averaged 10.91m (41.9%) for ITV1 between 7.30pm and 9pm, while a further 368k (1.4%) tuned in on ITV1+1. Britain's Got Talent Results, which saw Ronan Parke and Paul Gbegbaje become the first acts through to the final, pulled in 10.04m (38.2%) from 9.30pm and 200k (1.1%) on timeshift.

On BBC One, Saints and Scroungers fetched 3.4m (13.9%) from 7.30pm, and new series Egypt's Lost Cities debuted with 4.24m (16%) between 8.30pm and 10pm. A Question of Sport amused 3.14m (16.6%) from 10.45pm, before The Football League Show scored with 1.8m (12.4%).

Over at BBC Two, The Story of Ireland enchanted 1.19m (5.1%) in the 7pm hour and the return of Springwatch captivated 2.35m (8.8%) from 8pm and 140k (0.5%) on BBC HD. All Watched Over by Machines of Love and Grace - a series exploring the idea that humans have been colonised by the machines they have built - educated 760k (2.9%) in the 9pm hour and Queen: Days of Our Lives took 2.35m (12.3%) from 10pm.

A screening of The Italian Job revved up 1.04m (4.1%) on Channel 4 between 7.15pm and 9pm, along with 168k (0.6%) on +1. Gordon's Great Escape served up 950k (3.6%) from 9pm and 245k (1.3%) on timeshift.

Channel 5's Monkey Life entertained 364k (1.7%) from 6.30pm, before highlights of England's dramatic Test win against Sri Lanka pulled in 977k (4.2%) in the 7pm hour. The series finale of The Gadget Show switched on just 538k (2%) from 8pm and The Hotel Inspector booked in 1.41m (5.4%) in the 9pm hour. A showing of A Few Good Men mustered 563k (4.6%) from 10pm.

Overall, ITV1 owned primetime with 34.2% (+1: 1%), obliterating BBC One's 16.5%. BBC Two came in third with 7%, followed by Channel 4 with 4% (+1: 0.8%) and Channel 5 with 3.6%.

Elsewhere, reality TV series Made In Chelsea dazzled 301k (1.6%) on E4 in the 10pm hour. Fantasy drama Game Of Thrones had 527k (2%) on Sky Atlantic from 9pm.

Spinoff show Britain's Got More Talent entertained 562k (2.9%) on ITV2 in the 10pm hour and 126k (1.1%) on timeshift.
