The Britain's Got Talent live show averaged 9.44m (40.5%) for ITV1 between 7.30pm and 9pm, peaking at 10.55m (43.7%) during the 15 minutes from 8.15pm. A further 306k (1.2%) watched the programme on ITV1+1.
Britain's Got Talent Results, which saw New Bounce and Jean Martyn become the next acts through to the final, pulled in 8.9m (35.8%) from 9.30pm and 264k (1.6%) on timeshift. Spinoff show Britain's Got More Talent entertained 674k (3.4%) on ITV2 in the 10pm hour.
In the 9pm hour, Crimewatch tracked down 3.1m (12.5%) on BBC One, beating The Secret Millionaire's 1.01m (4.1%) on Channel 4 and 255k (1.3%) on +1.
BBC One's Holby City was hit by Britain's Got Talent, dipping to 3.74m (15.5%) in the 8pm hour, before Panorama had 3.1m (12.5%) from 9pm. Crimewatch On The Streets fetched 2.84m (20.8%) from 10.45pm.
Over at BBC Two, Britain's Secret Seas sailed away with 1.34m (6.6%) in the 7pm hour. Springwatch captivated 2.55m (10.6%) from 8pm and 161k (0.7%) on BBC HD. The Country House Revealed gathered 1.8m (7.2%) in the 9pm hour and 143k (0.6%) in HD. A new series of Jack Dee's sitcom Lead Balloon amused 1.4m (6.6%) from 10pm.
Four Rooms, a new factual series in which members of the public try to sell rare and unique items, averaged 820k (3.4%) for Channel 4 in the 8pm hour and 115k (0.5%) on +1. Jamie's Food Revolution Hits Hollywood cooked up 780k (4.1%) in the 10pm hour and 137k (1.3%) on +1.
Channel 5's Zoo Days entertained 264k (1.2%) from 7.30pm, before Supersize Grime disgusted 440k (1.8%). CSI and CSI: Miami brought in 1.85m (7.4%) and 1.25m (6.4%) respectively from 9pm.
Overall, ITV1 smashed primetime with a massive 33.3% (+1: 0.9%) against BBC One's 17.5%. BBC Two came in third place with 7.7%, followed by Channel 5's 4.2% and Channel 4's 3.6% (+1: 0.6%).
Elsewhere, MTV's new scripted reality show Geordie Shore continued with 345k (1.8%) in the 10pm hour.
