The performance show dipped to 9.11m (43.3%) between 7.30pm and 9pm, adding 307k on ITV1 +1.
However for the first time this year, ratings for the results programme topped the main show, as 9.64m (41.3%) returned at 9.30pm to see dancer Razy Gogonea and singer Michael Collings reach the grand final. A further 244k watched on timeshift.
Immediately after the ITV1 results show, Britain's Got More Talent on ITV2 entertained 782k (4.3%), dented once again by an inflated EastEnders repeat on BBC Three.
Elsewhere, A Question of Sport (8.30pm), Have I Got News For You (9pm) and Outnumbered (9.30pm) held respective audiences of 2.13m (9.6%), 3.66m (15.7%) and 2.87m (12.3%).
Over on BBC Two, Gardeners' World interested 1.66m (7.5%) at 8.30pm, Canal Walks with Julia Bradbury averaged 1.46m (6.3%) and Paul Merton's Birth of Hollywood claimed 1.52m (7%) at 9.30pm.
Channel 4's screening of Saving Private Ryan was seen by 1.14m (6.7%) from 9pm, adding 288k on +1, while Eddie Stobart: Trucks and Trailers (8pm) and The Mentalist (9pm) fetched 1.06m (4.8%) and 1.45m (6.2%) for Channel 5.
Overall, ITV1 stormed primetime with 35.3% (+1: 1%), ahead of BBC One's 16.6%, BBC Two's 5.7%, Channel 5's 4.8%, and Channel 4's 4.2% (+1: 0.7%).
