Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon has insisted that she wasn't "stolen" from Strictly Come Dancing.

The singer caused controversy last month when she was announced as joining the ITV show mere hours after confirming her departure from Strictly, having apparently been offered triple her £100,000 fee by Simon Cowell.

Reaffirming her claim that she was planning to leave Strictly this year anyway, Dixon told Now that she considered herself to have spent a "respectable" amount of time with the BBC.

"A person can't be stolen," she stated. "At the end of the day I was on Strictly Come Dancing for three years and I think that's a respectable length of time. It was my choice to leave and I'm excited."

Dixon's fellow judge David Walliams did, however, admit to being ensnared by Cowell.

"He just seduces you," the Little Britain comedian joked. "Simon is a man you can't say no to!"
