Alesha Dixon excited to 'go crazy' away from 'reserved Strictly'

By
Alesha Dixon has revealed that she is happy with her decision to switch judging Strictly Come Dancing for Britain's Got Talent, admitting that she found the BBC series "reserved".

The former Mis-teeq popstar quit the ballroom dance show in the New Year after three series on the panel. Simon Cowell has since claimed that he deliberately lured Dixon to BGT to help him win the ratings battle between The X Factor and Strictly.

Dixon said of her time on Got Talent: "It's been really nice as coming from Strictly, which is a little bit more reserved, you can definitely be a bit more crazy on this show. I've been out of my seat dancing and I've laughed a lot so that's always a good thing.

"It's been a great experience so far. I think the best way to describe it would be mad!"

Cowell backed up Dixon's remarks, commenting: "Alesha's like a different person, she's like a canary out of a cage, she's loving it. She loves judging all of the singers and all of the dance crews; she's got a real infectious sense of humour."

Ant & Dec also praised Dixon, highlighting her honesty with the auditionees: "We're slightly surprised at how harsh Alesha can be. She knows her stuff, especially with the dance acts. She gets very technical with them.

"She's also very honest, doesn't dress things up and isn't afraid to push that buzzer!"

Britain's Got Talent returns on Saturday, March 24 at 8pm on ITV1.
