Simon Cowell ended up mistaking a Britain's Got Talent's contestant's Peter Dickson impression for the Hunchback of Notre Dame on last weekend's More Talent ITV2 show.
Cowell made the embarrassing blunder about the X Factor and BGT announcer following auditonee Simon Butterworth's comedy routine, which involved singing Adele's 'Someone Like You' in the style of the exuvberant TV voiceover star.
Watch Simon Butterworth's audition below:
Cowell was the only judge to buzz Butterworth and asked afterwards: "The idea that the Hunchback of Notre Dame should do Adele - how did you come up with that?"
When Butterworth pointed out that he was actually supposed to sound like Dickson, a confused Cowell replied: "Oh, I thought it was Quasimodo."
David Walliams teased his co-star over the mistake, joking: "You must have seen The X Factor, Simon."
Butterworth was sent through to the second stage of BGT after picking up yeses from Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.
Britain's Got Talent continues this Saturday (April 21) at 8.30pm on ITV1. Stephen Mulhern's More Talent airs afterwards on ITV2.
