'Britain's Got Talent' The Showbears: One Direction fans don't like us

By
Britain's Got Talent entertainers The Showbears have revealed that they have annoyed One Direction fans because of David Walliams's quip that they could be the "new" version of the teen boyband.

"New One Direction" trended on Twitter at the weekend, following the group's camp song and dance sailor routine, which ended with judge Walliams joining them on stage.

Of the reaction from the X Factor group's fans, the Showbears told Digital Spy: "Some of the diehard One Direction fans really don't like us. After we were tagged the new One Direction they were branding us fat guys.

"But listen girls, this is what the boys will look like in 30 years' time! They had better get used to it. We are them."

Talking about their sequined outfits and large figures, the five-piece claimed that the Showbears' initiation involved "eating pies" and that they never expected they would need to wear their glittery silver costumes for more than three minutes on stage.

"They itch! They were made for a three minute routine and they are not lined. They are our version of Ginger Spice's Union Jack dress," the group said.

"We are mildly grated by the time we remove them."

Britain's Got Talent airs this weekend at the slightly later time of 8.30pm on ITV1.
