The singer was voted through to the second stage of BGT on Saturday's audition show, following his performance of 'Bring Him Home'.
Speaking on This Morning today, Keirl admitted that he had failed at his previous attempts to secure TV fame.
"You get a lot of rejection in the industry and you've got to pick yourself up and [think] this is what I really want to do... so I'm gonna do it," he said.
Commenting on Simon Cowell's criticism that his audition performance was in too high a key, Keirl said: "I didn't think it was too high - I changed the song to make it suit my voice and I tried to make it my own. That's the thing with these shows, you have to make it your own and put your own twist to it."
More Talent presenter Stephen Mulhern teased information about Keirl's future on the show, saying: "We can't reveal yet whether he's made it through to the semi finals - but I do know what he's rehearsing if he does go through... and WOW!"
Britain's Got Talent continues on Saturdays on ITV.
