Wotherspoon was rumoured to be considering a career in modelling after losing in the reality show final to Lee McQueen.
However, following a message of goodwill from Sugar, the 25-year-old decided he would dedicate his attention to business.
"Sir Alan texted me saying, 'I know you are business through and through, and I know if you were going to do modelling, you would do it alongside'," he told Heat.
"It made me feel good to have his support. I am so positive about business and now I want people to know I’m serious about it."
The former regional sales manager has been offered work by European bank Santander and reckons he could end up earning more than McQueen.
"I've had a meeting with one of the directors to talk through a potential position in wealth management," he commented.
"I can't talk about salary, but it would probably rival Lee's salary - not taking in to account the bonuses."
