Wotherspoon criticised Ledgerwood for appearing on the Children In Need hairdressing show, describing her as "desperate".
"He doesn't stop, does he?" Ledgerwood told DS. "Alex was interviewed for the programme and didn't get the place. I spoke to the executive producer and that's why Alex is slamming it.
"It's for charity and he didn't get on to it - it's sour grapes."
She continued: "Michael [Sophocles] is not on the show either. That's Alex’s bulls**t as well."
Speaking about her interest in the show, Ledgerwood said: "It's for Children In Need, which means its for people in their local areas and you can actually see where the money is helping people."
Asked about her hairdressing skills, she commented: "They have probably picked the person least capable of cutting someone’s hair. I don’t have a beauty regime or anything like that.
"My biggest fear is that I'll get a football team who want a back, sack and crack!"
Celebrity Scissorhands starts on BBC Three on Sunday, October 26.
