Sir Alan: 'Contestants look for fame'
Published Tuesday, Mar 31 2009, 09:27 BST | By Mayer Nissim

He told Closer that some of the participants are not actually interested in becoming his apprentice.
Sir Alan said: "Sometimes they go into the competition for the wrong reasons. They say to me: 'Can you find out who Cheryl Cole's agent is?'
"I think their intention at the start is to secure the job, but as soon as they see their face on the TV, they get delusions of grandeur."
He added that he was "dead easy to work for" and that last year's winner Lee McQueen was "thriving" at his company.
