'Apprentice' Phillip 'met Kate's mum'

Phillip Taylor has met the mum of his fellow Apprentice candidate and rumoured romantic interest Kate Walsh.

The pair reportedly began dating while filming the BBC One reality show. Tabloid speculation about the pair's relationship has been rife since the series began last month.

According to The Sun, the estate agent visited Walsh's home in Cannock last Sunday, but didn't impress his prospective mother-in-law Sue.

"Phil obviously thought he was being really charming but Sue is no pushover," said a source. "She liked him but thought he was a bit cocksure and was a bit suspect of his relationship with her daughter.

"Sue is very protective of Kate, who's the apple of her eye."

Previous Apprentice romances have included Katie Hopkins with Paul Callaghan and series two winner Michelle Dewberry with Syed Ahmed.
