The 33-year-old science teacher has been trying to keep his relationship with Lynn McNulty, 58, under wraps because he fears upsetting his strict Muslim parents, the Sunday Mirror claims.
A source told the newspaper: "He has been keen on older women since he was a teenager. But he has to keep his relationships secret from his parents as they would not approve. And he's worried about the stick he'd get from pupils."
Choudhury has apparently been searching for companionship since his partner of 13 years died of cancer in 2005.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that McNulty has been married for 24 years. It is believed that she has a grown-up son and a five-year-old grandson.
Responding to the allegations, Choudhury has confessed to having a fling with McNulty but insisted that the romance is now over. He also claimed that his lover had split from her husband at the time of their union.
He added: "Lynn and I have been good friends since we met in 2003. She was very supportive when my partner died in 2005 and we have stayed close ever since."
