Taylor: 'I was like a puppy dog'

Fired Apprentice candidate Phillip Taylor has admitted that he was like a "puppy dog" with his rival contestant Kate Walsh.

The 29-year-old spoke out about his romance with Walsh after being fired from the BBC One show yesterday.

"It started the minute she walked in," he told The Mirror. "I saw her smiling but I wasn't going to let myself be distracted by a beautiful woman...That lasted for six hours.

"In this particular task when were stuck together, the only way to describe it would be... y'know in those terrible '70s films when the girl walks on screen, when things go into slow motion and they start playing The Carpenters? It was a bit like that."

The County Durham estate agent also confessed that his relationship was at fault for his team's failure this week.

"I was like a puppy dog. I blew it," he said. "I made a mess of it, and it was basically down to what was going on."
