The 27-year-old, who lost out to Yasmina Siadatan in the final of the BBC One reality series, will co-host the nightly programme with ex-footballer Ian Wright and former glamour model Melinda Messenger.
The show, which will feature a mixture of news and showbiz gossip, has been described as the channel's answer to the BBC's One Show.
"It's up in the air exactly what the format will be but Wrighty and the girls are due to start rehearsals early next month," said a source. "It will be like nothing else we've ever had on British telly."
Earlier this year, Walsh made her TV presenting debut with a fashion slot on GMTV.
