Karen Brady has warned the Junior Apprentice candidates not to "underestimate" her.

The sporting executive, 41, promised that she would not miss "a single thing" while working as Sir Alan Sugar's "eyes and ears" on the reality show.

Brady, who has replaced Margaret Mountford on the BBC One series, will team up with Apprentice regular Nick Hewer in monitoring the candidates during their weekly tasks.

Speaking about her skills, Brady told the BBC: "I think the candidates must be very careful not to underestimate me, while I won't shout and will always be polite, I'm watching everything. I won't miss a single thing."

Brady said that "tactics" would be a waste of time and claimed that there would be "no hiding place" for contestants hoping to keep a low profile.

"I have experience of being a candidate on Comic Relief Does The Apprentice," she said. "And my experience is that it is incredibly tough. And I've been in a lot of the situations that these candidates will find themselves in.

"I will know exactly what to look out for and who actually has the business sense to make the right decisions and win the tasks. I will make sure the right people get the right mentions in the boardroom."

Speaking about the purpose of the Junior spinoff, she added: "I know there is potential in young people. I have seen it. I employ young people. I want to see the young people of today, who often get a bad press, putting themselves forward and effectively representing what the pride of Britain's business.

Junior Apprentice starts on Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
