Ben Clarke: 'Fired Hannah was useless'

Former Apprentice star Ben Clarke has described fired candidate Hannah Cherry as "useless".

Cherry was axed by Lord Alan Sugar on last night's show after her team lost out in an art selling task. Ex-stockbroker Clarke argued that the student has been "bottom of the class" for a number of weeks.

"I've been saying she's useless for a while now - bear in mind she's only 16 so we can't really say she's useless but I didn't really like her," he told DS.

"When we've been talking to people in and around Newcastle and Edinburgh they always seem to highlight the fact she just seems a little bit stupid. A lot of the time when you ask the public they're making impressions of her - really stupid, idiot impressions - which is a bit harsh on a girl who's only 16, 17 years of age.

"She's not strong. She's been waiting in the wings to go for a while. I'm glad to see her gone - didn't see much point keeping her on any longer."

He also played down Cherry's claims that she had a great invention, which she was keeping secret from the producers of the show.

"It must be an absolutely spanking invention if she's going on about it," he said. "But let's be honest, there are so many inventors out there who think their idea's absolutely amazing. But when it comes to the business side of things it very quickly becomes reality that what they've come up with isn't the best thing in the world.

"You can patent any piece of crap if you want - it doesn't mean it's going to sell."
