'Junior Apprentice' final pulls in 5m

The finale of Junior Apprentice was watched by nearly 5m on Thursday night, according to the latest viewing figures.

The programme, which saw Alan Sugar name the winning apprentice, attracted 4.88m (21.1%) to BBC One from 9pm.

The final also won the 9pm hour after the last part of crime drama Father & Son averaged 4.17m (18%) for ITV1.

Earlier on BBC One, Watchdog took 3.39m (14.7%) from 8pm, up 680k week-on-week.

Location, Location, Location pulled in 1.8m (7.8%) for Channel 4 in the 8pm hour and 290k (1.3%) on timeshift. Come Dine With Me: Footballers Special delivered 2.43m (10.5%) from 9pm and 349k (1.8%) on timeshift.

The first episode of Big Brother after yesterday's launch programme pulled in 2.83m (15.8%) for Channel 4 from 10pm, with 254k (2.7%) tuning in on timeshift.

The Culture Show brought in 660k (3.2%) for BBC Two from 7pm, and it was followed by Springwatch 2010 with 2.02m (8.7%).

The return of Fifth Gear brought in 421k (2%) for Five between 7.30pm and 8pm, before Britain's Greatest Machines With Chris Barrie attracted 475k (2.1%) in the 8pm hour.

Overall, ITV1 won primetime with a share of 24.3% over BBC One's 19.8%. Channel 4 came in third with 9.2% (+1: 1%), followed by BBC Two with 6.6% and Five with 2.9%.

Elsewhere, Peter Andre: The Next Chapter took 775k (3.4%) for ITV2 in the 9pm hour and 144k (0.8%) on timeshift.

The debut episode of Lee Nelson's Well Good Show brought in 501k (3%) for BBC Three between 10.30pm and 11pm. Later on the channel, a repeat of the Junior Apprentice final secured 286k (4.8%) from 11.45pm.
