McQueen, who won a job with Lord Alan Sugar in 2008, admitted that they have done little to impress him so far and predicted that a female will win this year's competition.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: "The striking thing for me, particularly the first episode, was how bad the boys were. They really let the side down. They spent most of the task running around like headless chickens.
"The guys did everything wrong and none of them really stood out. They were basket cases. It is really early doors obviously but I was far more impressed with the girls.
"I can see the winner being a woman this year. The ones who have impressed me so far are Stella and Elizabeth - I think they'll go far."
McQueen worked for Lord Sugar for two years before leaving to start his own company, which trains youngsters in how to succeed in business.
