Sugar admitted on You're Fired that he was more excited by Pellereau's previous product than the chair device for bad backs he presented a business plan for on the BBC One show.
"The chair is going to need a bit of tweaking," he said. "We might turn it into a nail file. Tom's been very successful with a lot of products and has had great success with them in America.
"Things may have gone wrong somewhere and we hope to pick that up and enhance them."

He continued: "I am a product man at heart and that's what Tom is all about. Tom's quirky enough and there's something there that we are going to do.
"I have a gut feeling and I've done lots of things in my life through gut feeling. He's the man with the product."

Sugar offered support to runner-up Helen Milligan, admitting that she would have been a runaway winner in previous series when he was looking for an employee.
"Helen showed to her current employer, he or she is going to have to be a bit of a mug to not promote her. They've seen what she's capable of doing," he said.
