Lord Alan Sugar denies 'Young Apprentice' axe reports

Lord Sugar has denied tabloid reports that he is preparing to axe Young Apprentice.

The spinoff reality show, which will air a third series in October, hasn't scored the same ratings as its adult counterpart and The Sun newspaper alleged that Sugar was preparing to ditch it to focus on the original.

However, Sugar quickly took to Twitter this morning to refute the allegation.

"Sun article about ME wanting to stop Young Apprentice is total rubbish," he wrote.

"If there are no more YA series it will be the BBC who decide not me."

Arjun Rajyagor and Zara Brownless won the first two series of Young Apprentice, which earned them a £25,000 prize from the business magnate.

Sugar has always been a passionate supporter of the Young Apprentice format, claiming that he preferred the concept to a full-length celebrity edition.
