'Apprentice' driver arrested during task
Published Sunday, Apr 8 2007, 10:14 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly

The driver refused to reveal his involvement with the show when he was quizzed by police while waiting for the team to return from a meeting. While searching his vehicle, officers discovered handbags belonging to the ladies and suspected that he had stolen them.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: "As soon as the police saw the pile of bags which he wouldn't explain he was taken to a police station and quizzed for three hours before he was eventually set free. By that time the girl contestants were stranded - and decided it must be part of their task.
"Drivers are given strict instructions not to reveal their involvement with the programme to anyone. It seems this driver just followed that to the letter, even when faced with a night behind bars."
The insider added: "The girls were not happy when they found out what had really happened - especially as it wasn't taken into account in the boardroom."
