'The Apprentice': Week 7 Recap
Published Thursday, May 10 2007, 09:27 BST | By Nick Levine
This week on The Apprentice, Sir Alan challenged the teams to prove their bargaining skills. He instructed his proteges to buy the ten items on his shopping list, which comprised everything from a unicycle to a wetsuit, for prices lower than those asked by the vendors. Adam and Simon volunteered to be team leaders.
Adam's team managed to negotiate impressive reductions on their items, but they were unable to locate nigella seeds - black seeds used to make naan bread - before Sir Alan's deadline. They consequently incurred an £80 fine.
Simon's team negotiated less impressive deals, but they managed to source every item on Sir Alan's list by the end of the day. However, they incurred a £50 fine for failing to buy one item below the price asked by the vendor.
Adam's team returned with £458.71 of their budget to spare, but Simon's team managed to bring £459.68 back into the boardroom. They were promptly sent off to a Formula One racing track as a reward.
Adam chose to bring Ghazal and Katie into the boardroom. Sir Alan noted Ghazal's lack of experience, and expressed concern that Katie might be something of a "corporate animal", but he decided to fire Adam. It was the former car salesman's fourth boardroom appearance in succession, prompting Sir Alan to reason that his "luck had run out".
