'The Apprentice': Next series pushed back to avoid World Cup clash

By
The next series of The Apprentice has been pushed back until autumn 2014.

The BBC has taken the decision to delay the transmission of the show's tenth series to avoid a scheduling clash with next summer's football World Cup coverage.

The Apprentice: Lord Sugar, Nick Hewer and Karren Brady

Lord Alan Sugar confirmed the news on Twitter earlier today (October 28) when asked about the show's return to BBC One.

Earlier this year, Leah Totton became the latest candidate to win a £250,000 investment, with Sugar opting to invest in her cosmetic clinics business rather than Luisa Zissman's wholesale bakery concept.

Meanwhile, Sugar has confirmed that Young Apprentice will not be returning for another series.

He later criticised the BBC for axing the spinoff series, branding the decision 'illogical'.
