The success of the recent instalment, which featured Piers Morgan, Lennox Lewis and Gene Simmons, has prompted the network to commission a new run for January 2009.
NBC's Craig Plestis commented: "This revved-up instalment of The Apprentice has been a game changer for the series.
"[Producers] are already getting calls from high-profile celebrities who want to challenge themselves in season two."
A second celebrity version of the UK show with Alan Sugar will take place as part of Sport Relief in March.
