The trainee barrister was shocked and upset when the other candidates blasted her for not contributing enough during tasks.
Footage of the incident was aired in episode six of the BBC One reality series and sparked a number of complaints from viewers.
According to the Daily Star Sunday, the BBC's complaints department confirmed in a letter to one viewer that a psychologist was contacted to assess Sara in the aftermath of the row.
The letter stated: "The pressure on the candidates is immense and there are times when emotions overflow. There is a specifically designated team in the house to offer support to the candidates and to step in if it is deemed necessary.
"There is also a psychologist on call. On this occasion, a discussion was had with Sara, and although she was upset she wanted to continue. She and the candidates involved resolved things themselves."
