Brown, 24, was injured when a lorry drove into a building site and knocked bricks on top of him.
A source told The Sun: "He was trapped for several agonising minutes and screaming in pain.
"Things really took a surreal turn when the film crew (filming an ITV documentary) also jumped out of the ambulance with the paramedics."
The trainee barrister underwent several operations, but was informed by doctors that he would not be able to walk without crutches until October.
