Rhys Rosser was the latest applicant to get the chop on last night's
Junior Apprentice, while Adam 'women like cheese' Eliaz was sent home sick. But who shined brightest in the cupcake wars? We caught up with
Apprentice 2009 star and Kate Walsh's other half Phil 'Pantsman' Taylor to find out who he rated and slated on this week's episode.
Fired: Rhys Rosser "He seems like a lovely kid, but he was also one of those ones who talked the talk, but didn't walk the walk. You could sense that his team weren't behind him, but if you don't instil that in people from the start, you are going to fail. I know he tried to give that inspiring speech, but it fell flat and they had already made their mind up about him. He was obviously a huge character, so I was surprised he went from that point of view, but I think Sugar got it right when he said that he wasn't quite cut out for it at the moment."
Sent home sick: Adam Eliaz "He's a little Del Boy isn't he? He seems like a lovely lad and a great character, he was entertaining to watch. But sometimes, I'm not a fan of entertainment on
The Apprentice. People crack jokes sometimes to stay in the competition and that's frustrating. It was coming to the point with him that I wanted him to be put out of his misery. You do get ill working on the show, because there's long hours and people pick up colds. I'm not saying he was making excuses, but I think it was the best thing to do to put him out of his misery and fire him. He'd have been gone next week anyway."
Star performer: Zoe Plummer "I think she's awesome. She reminds me of me on the show a little bit. The only problem she might have is that she is getting carried away with her early successes, like I did. As soon as you get a bit confident and start pushing your ideas around, that's when people will turn on you and Sir Alan will pick up on that. But I think she is the outstanding candidate so far. Her sales skills are unbelievable. She's got great leadership skills, she just needs to reign it in a little bit. I love the femme fatale thing she's got going on with the lipstick. She looks the part. Definitely one to watch."
Next for the drop: Tim Ankers "To be honest, I like the guy and personality-wise he seems like a really nice bloke. But he needs to step up to the plate next week. He can't keep shirking. It really annoyed me on the show when people always wanted to work behind the scenes on tasks or doing things like market research. Him and Hannah last night got away lightly, hiding downstairs making the cakes. Anyone can make cakes, but going on the shop-floor and selling it is a different ball game. He's going to be project manager next week, but I don't hold out high hopes for him. A nice bloke, but he's weak compared to the rest."
Tip to win: Arjun Rajyagor "Smooth. Really, really smooth operator. Everyone else was scared of his ability with numbers and they are so important in business. And in the boardroom, he used his number skills to his advantage. He played Zoe and Emma off against each other. Them two started arguing and he just sat back. He's very astute and smart. He could go all the way. I think he really could."
Junior Apprentice continues next Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
